Intellectual Property and Use of Information
Ultimately, protection of intellectual property is the responsibility of each individual presenter, and presenters are encouraged NOT to present information that is proprietary, competition sensitive, confidential or otherwise controlled. Presenters should clearly mark materials with name, affiliation, date, preferred standard of public usage (if any), and may employ digital watermarking or choose to mark information with labels such as “proprietary,” “do not distribute,” “confidential” or other language indicating a usage restriction.
Attendees of SSERVI events and meetings should make every effort to give credit where due, and reference all data and sources as appropriate. Information presented may be used solely for personal, informational, educational, or non-commercial purposes, and no work may be copied or reproduced without express permission of the author. Information may not be modified or altered in any way. Removal of any copyright or other proprietary notices contained in information presented also is prohibited. Some oral talks and posters may reflect preliminary work before it has been published, and as a professional courtesy, attendees should contact individuals and request permission prior to using any information obtained from SSERVI events and meetings.
